These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the ChatGPT Chrome Extension ("Extension") and related backend services (collectively, "Services") provided by ChatGPT Chrome Extension ("we," "us," or "our").
By installing or using the Extension, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. Description of Service
The Extension displays AI-generated answers alongside Google Search results. Responses are generated by third-party AI models via OpenRouter. The Services are provided free of charge and do not require account registration.
2. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms. You must not:
- Automate, script, or otherwise artificially generate requests to the Services.
- Attempt to circumvent usage limits or fraud protection mechanisms, including browser fingerprinting.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the Extension or backend services.
- Use the Services to distribute spam, malware, or harmful content.
- Resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercialize access to the Services.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Services.
3. Usage Limits
The Services are provided with usage limits that may vary over time. We reserve the right to modify, reduce, or discontinue usage allowances at any time without prior notice. Exceeding limits or abusing the Services may result in temporary or permanent restriction of access.
4. Third-Party AI Services
AI responses are generated by third-party models provided through OpenRouter. We do not control the content, accuracy, or availability of these models. We are not responsible for any decisions made based on AI-generated responses. You should independently verify any information provided by the Services before relying on it.
5. Fraud Prevention and Access Restriction
We use browser fingerprinting and other technical measures to detect and prevent abuse. We reserve the right to restrict or block access to the Services, at our sole discretion, for any user or device exhibiting abusive behavior, without prior notice or liability.
6. Intellectual Property
The Extension, its code, design, and all associated materials are the property of ChatGPT Chrome Extension and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any ownership rights in the Services.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT AI-GENERATED RESPONSES WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR SUITABLE FOR ANY PURPOSE.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CHATGPT CHROME EXTENSION SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Services ceases immediately.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised version at this URL and update the "Last Updated" date above. Your continued use of the Services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
